Day 5, I can’t believe it. I’m now so used to mad taxi drivers/shoe changes/outfit changes/the sight of my favourite model (shout out to the stunning Marine from Premier Model Management) /lack of sleep/no sign of a gym/sporadic meals… I sort of feel like I’ve hit my stride and could… *deep inhale* Keep doing this forever…?!
I’ll make that wish and I’m not being careful about it - because I mean it!
What designers do, is amazing, and can be highly inspiring. I think everyone needs to find the things that inspire them - I know I’m a better actress from the fashion world I’m involved in and as I draw to the close of LFW I feel really grateful to be a part of it.
Last night was amazingly fun, the Pringle dinner set me up perfectly for my entrance to the Another magazine party at Lou Lou’s - a black veil and white roses from the dinner table - paparazzi shouted “Bride of Frankenstein!” (I was in a white Pringle dress). I’m not entirely sure what I was dressed as (neither were most other people!) But the theme was ‘your fantasy…’ - and a bride in mourning is definitely NOT my fantasy, but is very chic! And Fash-waaan darling!
I never found the bar, I never even got a glass of water but I had so much fun with great friends and amazing new ones. I now fancy David Beckham… Victoria is epic… Natalie Massenet wore a McQueen face mask from last season… Edie Campbell was dressed in millions of buttons, and she and Kate Moss attempted to make me understand what Harry Styles is all about… They failed. But David, you are chic and cool and so is your wife.
Today I wore sunglasses amongst the grey morning, not to hide anything - only because I felt like it. In the words of Karl L, “I know what is behind the dark glasses…” Closing the week makes me want to hold a little bit of mystery.
Post Simone-modern-fabric-Rocha this morning, I jumped to my favourite spot for two large, extra kale, green smoothies (yes, I am that girl) whilst contemplating the week.
Milan is buzzing at me already, flights have been booked, plans made, and another city will have it’s turn to say what is brewing for the future of fashion.
I read this quote from Emily Dickinson whilst stealing away a few days before fashion week started and it’s something to remember, “Beauty - be not caused - It Is - Chase it, and it ceases - Chase it not, and it abides.”
